St. Peter's Sponsors African Children

Since 2000, St. Peter's has sponsored African children through the World Vision program. We receive updates on the children twice a year. At last check, they are all growing and thriving, thanks in part to our sponsorship.
Despite these challenging financial times, St. Peter's does not want to break our commitment to these children. Since we began, two of our original six sponsored children have completed their education and "graduated" from the World Vision program. We can be pleased that we were able to make a positive difference in the lives of just two of God's children halfway around the world. If at all possible, we would like to see through the commitment we have made to the other four:
Name | Country | Age | Birthday |
|---|---|---|---|
Judith Vumbi Ihemba | Democratic Republic of Congo | 13 | May 12 |
Emanuel Akimana | Rwanda | 14 | April 30 |
Juliette Imanishimwe | Rwanda | 16 | August 5 |
Anne Marie Nyirabakunzi | Rwanda | 19 | March 10 |
The monthly cost to provide health care and schooling for these vulnerable young people is just $22 per month. Working together, we can make it happen! For just $22, an individual or family can know that they are providing a month's worth of health care and schooling for a particular child.
If interested in contributing to this very worthy cause, see the signup poster on the bulletin board at the back of the church. Make checks payable to St. Peter's. (Write "World Vision" on the memo line.) All donations are tax-deductible and will appear on parishioners' year-end statements.
More important than any financial contribution, please remember these children in your prayers!
